Welcome to Authors Lodge and Chapter 3456 , the Metropolitan masonic units meeting at the Freemasons Hall.
Our history began in 1910, when a group of members of the Authors Club started a masonic Lodge. It was granted the mysterious number 3456 . Originally a literally lodge supported by Rudyard Kipling, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Jerome K Jerome, we are today a friendly Lodge and Chapter open to anyone interested in meeting like-minded brethren and exploring the unity or arts and sciences from the masonic point of view.
Having celebrated our centenary in 2010 and welcomed many new and (relatively) young members, we are proud of keeping our masonic traditions, including the unique Authors Ritual, both in the Lodge and the Chapter. Our Festive Board usually takes place in one of the traditional London clubs, and a very special ritual is practised during the dinner also.
